Cookie notice
Last updated October 31, 2026 Draft for lawyer review
This notice lists the cookies and similar browser storage getbud.app can use, and how to control them. The Bud app doesn’t use cookies. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information more generally.
The short version
- No ad cookies, ever. We don’t use advertising pixels or cross-site tracking.
- Analytics only after you say yes. Analytics cookies and recordings stay off until you choose Accept in our cookie notice. Reject keeps them off.
- Global Privacy Control turns everything off. If your browser sends the signal, analytics never load, whatever you’ve chosen.
- Right now getbud.app doesn't use analytics at all, so the cookie notice doesn't appear. When we turn analytics on, it will ask you first.
What we store
Always, to remember your choice. These are kept in your browser’s local storage, not sent to us, and stay until you clear your browser data.
| Name | What it does |
|---|---|
bud-consent |
Remembers whether you chose Accept or Reject, and when |
bud-gpc-note-seen |
Remembers that we’ve told you your Global Privacy Control signal is on |
Only after you choose Accept.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
ph_<project>_posthog |
PostHog | A random ID that counts visits and, after Accept, links a session recording to them | 1 year |
_ga |
Google Analytics | A random ID that tells visits apart | 2 years |
_ga_<property> |
Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit | 2 years |
PostHog may also keep the same random ID in local storage and use session storage while a recording runs. If you choose Reject later, we stop PostHog and Google Analytics and delete the Google Analytics cookies.
Security. Our host, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary cookie such as __cf_bm to tell people from bots. It doesn’t track you across sites and can’t be turned off, because the site needs it to stay safe.
The waitlist signup form doesn’t set any cookies.
Your choices
- Cookie settings. When analytics are on, Cookie settings at the bottom of every page lets you Accept or Reject.
- Global Privacy Control. Turn it on in a browser that supports it, and we treat it as a Reject that you can’t accidentally override.
- Your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google also offers an opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
